BOYETTE ROAD WIDENING

The project involved the planning and designing of the widening of Boyette Road between US 301 and Bell Shoals Road in the Riverview area of Hillsborough County. The total length of the project encompassed 3.5 miles. The existing two-lane rural roadway was widened to a six-lane urban facility between US 301 and Balm Riverview Road with curb, gutter and closed drainage system. Between Balm Riverview Road and Bell Shoals Road, the facility was made into a four-lane urban facility. The improvements included 4-foot bike lanes, sidewalks, intersection improvements, bus facilities and stormwater management ponds. Community involvement included close coordination with Riverview High School, Rogers Middle School and St Stephen’s Catholic School. The project was divided into three separate one-mile-long projects to finance and budget the project cost.
