SENIOR BRIDGE ENGINEERS

QUALIFICATIONS

BES Connecticut is hiring skilled and experienced Bridge Engineers for statewide work. Requirements include:

•     B.S. degree in Civil Engineering

•     PE license in the State of Connecticut or the ability to obtain within 6 months

•     Minimum of 5 years of experience in complex Bridge Safety Inspections

•     Currently qualify for National Bride Inspection Standards (NBIS) as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader

•     Experience working on ConnDOT projects desirable 

•     Working knowledge of Bentley Microstation 

•     Preferable if completed comprehensive training course based on the FHWA Bridge Inspector's Reference Manual (BIRM)/NHI Course

RESPONSIBILITIES

​

•     Supervises safety inspections of bridges and tunnels and oversees the preparation of written reports of the conditions of the structures

•     Supervises in-depth inspections using non-destructive testing methods, mechanized access equipment and/or climbing gear

•     Performs Quality Assurance/Quality Control of all aspects of BES' Inspection Program

•     Provides overall Project Management for BES CT Inspection Teams, including general instruction assigning and reviewing work, coaching        and training, providing guidance and instruction in the proper and most efficient methods of accomplishing tasks, overseeing

          staffing decisions and performance management.​

•     Part-Time or Full-Time possible/Hybrid possible
