REHABILITATION OF DEXTER COFFIN BRIDGE
BES is providing Inspection support for this contract calling for the rehabilitation of the Dexter Coffin Bridge (Bridge No. 00454), which carries Interstate 91 over the Connecticut River in Windsor Locks and East Windsor. Inspectors are overseeing the construction consisting of steel repairs within the superstructure and existing girders using cover plates and ultra-high performance concrete, expansion bearing replacement, joint replacement, deck repairs, new membrane waterproofing, and pavement overlay. Other project specifics include cleaning and painting of fixed bearings, cleaning and painting of beam ends, spot cleaning and painting, patching of the concrete bridge deck, substructure patching, parapet repairs, bridge rail restoration, and sign structure replacement.
