62ND AVENUE PD&E
This study developed conceptual roadway improvements for the multi-lane widening of 62nd Avenue in Pinellas County. The project limits on 62nd Avenue were from 34th Street (US 19) to 49th Street, a distance of approximately 1.2 miles. BES prepared a Traffic Technical Memorandum that suggested future geometry and access locations for 62nd Avenue between 34th Street and 49th Street. Crash data, turning movements, and approach volumes were analyzed. Signal warrant analysis and turn lane length analysis was performed to determine geometric features such as turn lane lengths and median openings. BES Inc collected all traffic counts necessary for preparing the technical memorandum. These included 72-hour approach counts including classification, eight-hour turning movement counts at six intersections, and pedestrian/bicycle counts. BES Inc also prepared signal modification plans to accommodate the widening of 62nd Avenue at 34th Street and 49th Street.
