
SAFETY AND OPERATIONAL EVALUATIONS - TRAFFIC A IN ANALYSIS & SIGNAL DESIGN
In support of Hillsborough County’s Resurfacing Program and project development, the Safety and Operational Evaluation and Recommendation Summary is provided for each assigned roadway segment being considered for resurfacing within the County and/or City of Tampa.
The BES team is responsible for review of existing data, coordination with local agencies and field review. The intent of the assignment is to review crash data and traffic data to determine actionable improvements to be included in the Resurfacing Program, taking advantage of efficiencies realized by adding scope to upcoming resurfacing projects. The team works to ensure safety and operational concerns are identified and addressed with every project by considering the following subjects: Background (Existing Conditions) – Roadway Characteristics; sidewalk; truck routes; land use; schools; parks; traffic datum; traffic services complaints; Signalization; Signing and Pavement Markings; Shoulders; Safety / Crash Analysis; Lighting; Pedestrian (ADA/Vision Zero); Bicyclist (Vision Zero) and Transit.
